2025 Reflections

a look back at some favorites of 2025 and a glance forward 2026

Posted by Charis Elisabeth

Looking back at 2025, I am so deeply grateful for the families who trusted me to step into their lives and document their stories. This year brought meaningful moments, quiet connections, and delightful chaos. I am continually humbled that this is the work I get to do as an Oklahoma City newborn and family photographer.

Throughout the year, I to photograph growing bellies, brand new babies, busy toddlers, big sibling moments, and families settling into new seasons together. Each session looked a little different, but they were all rooted in the same thing, which is celebrating life as it is right now. The snuggles on the couch, the laughter during play, the moments parents do not always realize are worth remembering until they see them later.

So Grateful

This year also brought a deep sense of gratitude for how God has been faithful in this business. Running a photography business takes hard work, energy, and a lot of behind the scenes effort, but it has also provided for my family in ways I do not take lightly. I feel honored that this work allows me to support my own family while serving others in such a personal way.

Every inquiry, every session booked, and every family that returned again this year was a reminder that this work matters, even in the quiet and unseen ways. A huge thank you to my clients!

Looking Ahead to 2026

As 2025 comes to a close, I am already looking ahead to 2026 with excitement and intention. I will be offering a limited number of sessions again next year so that I can continue to give each family the time, care, and attention they deserve. Many families choose to book early to secure their preferred season, especially for newborn and fall family sessions.

If you would like to secure a spot for 2026, reach out and we can begin planning a session that fits your season of life. I cannot wait to see what stories the next year will hold.

In Home Baby Photo Sessions in Oklahoma City

One of my favorite things about newborn photography is being invited into a family’s home during those early days when everything still feels new and tender. In home newborn sessions are cozy and relaxed, allowing space for parents to soak in the wonder and awe of their new little one without the pressure of leaving the house. I get to document the quiet beauty and rawness of this season, from tiny details to the way parents naturally settle in with their baby. These sessions always feel deeply personal and honest.

Maternity Photo Sessions

Maternity sessions hold such a special kind of anticipation. There is excitement, curiosity, and often a quiet sense of awe about what is coming next. Whether this is your first baby or you are adding another little one to your family, this season carries so much meaning. I love celebrating that with you and creating space to pause before life changes in big and beautiful ways. My maternity and newborn package is a client favorite.

OKC In Home Family Photo Sessions

Some of the most genuine family photos happen right at home, where everyone already feels comfortable. These sessions might look like baking your favorite cookies together, reading books on the couch, or letting kids run wild in the backyard. They are simple and deeply meaningful, and they tend to be the images families choose to hang on their walls for years to come. If an in home family session feels like the right fit for your family, I would love to help you plan one for 2026.

Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

This year I finally got to photograph a session at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, something I had dreamed of since moving to Oklahoma. The landscape is raw, open, and incredibly beautiful, making it such a unique setting for family photos. These sessions feel like an adventure, perfect for families who love exploring together. In July, I will be offering two sessions at the Wichita Mountains without a travel fee, and those spots tend to fill quickly.

Fresh 48 Sessions

Fresh 48 sessions take place during those first couple of days after your baby is born, right in the hospital. These sessions are simple and intimate, focused on documenting the tiny details, first snuggles, and the way your family begins this new chapter together. They are unfiltered and meaningful in a way that is hard to replicate later.

Short Sessions

Short sessions (my variation of mini sessions) continue to be a client favorite year after year. From the Wheeler District for a more urban feel, to the beach at Lake Hefner, to open grassy fields, I love the variety these sessions offer. They are perfect for families who want a relaxed experience with a smaller time commitment, and I am excited to introduce a few new locations in 2026.

Seasonal Mini Sessions

I only offer a handful of mini sessions each year, and they always fill quickly. Motherhood minis at REN OKC were a beautiful way to celebrate my newborn moms from the year before, and I cannot wait to bring those back. Christmas tree farm sessions and holiday studio sessions continue to be favorites as well, offering a festive way to document the season.
