Family and Newborn Photographer Serving the OKC Metro

Why Choose a Maternity And newborn photography Session Package
Posted in Fresh 48 Photography, Maternity Photography, Newborn Photography, OKC resources by Charis Elisabeth
You know that feeling when you’re at the start of something big and beautiful. Like those quiet moments when you feel baby hiccups in your belly and wonder what their little face will look like? Then suddenly, that baby is in your arms and you are marveling at their long toes and tiny fingers. It all feels so fast and slow at the same time.
This season is too special to let slip by undocumented, and truthfully, it deserves more than just a handful of iPhone snapshots.
That’s why I always encourage my clients to bundle their maternity and newborn sessions. It’s not just about saving a bit (though, yes, you do get savings). It’s about telling your whole story – the anticipation and the arrival, the waiting and the wonder – together in a way that feels honest, beautiful, and full of connection.

A Season That Deserves to Be Remembered
It’s easy to think maternity photos might not be necessary. Maybe you’re tired. Maybe you don’t feel quite like yourself (been there too). I get it (I’ve been there 3 times!)
But here’s what I know: this stretch of time, messy and magical as it is, carries meaning. These photos aren’t about perfection, they’re about presence. About pausing to honor what your body and heart are holding before your little one arrives. And when they do? When you’re cuddled on the couch with your baby in those first, sleepy weeks? The story feels complete.

Here’s Why Bundling Maternity and Newborn Photos Just Makes Sense
1. You Save Money (and Get More Value)
When you bundle, you get the added maternity session at a special discounted rate. That includes:
- A 30-45 minute maternity session
- A full gallery of beautifully edited images
- More options for prints, albums, and artwork
So it’s more than a price break. It’s a way to invest in your family’s legacy with purpose, which is something I’m extremely passionate about and always looking for ways to make it easier on my clients.

2. You Build Comfort and Trust Before Baby Arrives
One of the big things I hear from moms is how nervous they feel about newborn sessions you know with all those unpredictable things that come with postpartum life.
When we do a maternity photography session together, it allows you to meet me and see my photography approach in action. You get to see how I interact and what I do. It also gets your whole family (yes, even reluctant toddlers or helpful partners!) used to the camera. And finally it builds trust between us so when I show up for your newborn session, it feels like a friend walking in
This kind of connection makes such a difference. And it shows in the photos.

3. Consistent Style and Storytelling Across Both Sessions
Bundling your sessions allows me to photograph both parts of your journey with a consistent look and feel. That means you’ll get the same soft tones, natural light, and cozy vibe across sessions. You can choose outfits from my curated client closet that work beautifully in both sessions. Ending with a cohesive final gallery perfect for albums and wall art so that you won’t have to worry about mismatched styles or scattered photos. And your photos will also all be in one place so no trying to remember where you put them on that online world.

4. You’re Capturing the Whole Story – Not Just a Moment
I believe stories matter and that your story matters. And while newborn photos are special, there’s something deeply moving about pairing them with images of you waiting, holding your belly, dreaming up names or feeling that first flutter. You won’t get these days back. But you’ll be so glad you chose to have them remembered.
Something shifts when you see these moments captured with love and intention. When your maternity photos hang next to your newborn artwork, they tell a story of growth. Of becoming. Of love that’s constant, even as everything changes.

Booking a newborn and maternity session package is such a wonderful way to eliminate “another decision we have to make” as expecting moms too! Love these points 🙂
I totally agree that booking a maternity and newborn session together is the way to go! Mama doesn’t have to stress about finding a newborn session when they are in those early days, and I love getting to see the “before” and “after” having the baby.
I absolutely agree! Both of these stages are special and fleeting. You will never regret photos you have had taken, but will absolutely regret not taking photos!
100% YES! You’re going to want both. Book together and save AND also know and trust your photographer is the most important thing.
Number 2 and Number 3 are so true! I definitely would want the chance to get to know my photographer during the maternity photoshoot before the baby arrives!
I’ve had a 2 moms in the past few months who were on the fence about maternity photos, they decided at the last minute to do them and said they were SO glad they did!
This makes so much sense! I love the aspect of building a relationship with you as a photographer for multiple connected sessions.
