A Fun Fall Bucket List for Expecting Moms in Oklahoma City
Posted by Charis Elisabeth
If you’re expecting your first baby this fall, you’re in one of the sweetest (and wildest!) seasons of life. Between baby prep and all those final appointments, it’s easy to forget to slow down and enjoy this chapter before everything changes.
So grab your favorite cozy drink, slip on something comfy, and start checking off this fall bucket list that I made just for Oklahoma City mamas-to-be. And the extra fun thing about these are that they can become family traditions for years to come!

1. Join the 405 Moms Club Mama Mixer at the Wheeler Ferris Wheel
Before baby arrives, take a little time to connect with other local mamas! The Mama Mixer on October 18 is full of family fun — 70+ local pop-up shops, food trucks, bounce houses, face painting, and plenty of mama vendors (including doulas, baby boutiques, and photographers). It’s a relaxed, come-as-you-are kind of event that’s perfect for soaking in the local mom community and making some helpful connections before your own baby makes their debut. Grab the details here.
2. Go on a Baby Shopping Adventure Around OKC
Spend a Saturday exploring some of OKC’s sweetest baby boutiques — places like Harper Wren, Swaddle OKC or Cinnamon Bears. Whether you’re shopping for that perfect coming-home outfit, nursery decor, or a little treat for yourself, it’s a fun way to make baby prep feel more special (and less like a to-do list). Don’t forget a sweet treat at Harverys or Boomtown and coffee at Clarity or finishing off the day with dessert and hot drinks at Peret’s.

3. Visit a Local Pumpkin Patch
You can’t go wrong with a fall photo and a bump shot among the pumpkins! Check out this list of Oklahoma City Pumpkin Patches for the top places to visit for hayrides, cider, and all the cozy fall vibes. Bring your partner or a few friends and make a morning of it — bonus points if you grab a caramel apple on your way out.
4. Cheer on the Sooners at an OU Game
If you can still handle the crowds, a fall OU game in Norman is a must. There’s just something about the energy, the band, and the crisp air that feels nostalgic. If you’d rather stay comfy, set up a tailgate-at-home night with your favorite snacks and fuzzy socks.

5. Take a Fall Getaway to Broken Bow or the Ozarks
Before life gets a little busier, sneak in a weekend away! You can still see the fall color beauty just a short drive away from the City. Broken Bow and Beavers Bend State Park are perfect for slow mornings, scenic walks, and fireside nights. Or head up to Northwest Arkansas to see the Ozarks in full color. It’s the perfect mini babymoon without a long drive.
6. Attend An Affair of the Heart
Looking for one last girls’ day before baby? This huge shopping event runs October 17–19 at OKC Fair Park. With over 400 vendors, you can shop baby items, home decor, early holiday gifts, and local handmade goods. Treat yourself to a comfy outfit or something for your postpartum recovery basket.

7. Enjoy the Fall Weather with Outdoor Dining
Fall evenings in Oklahoma are short-lived, so soak them in while you can. Enjoy rooftop pizza at Hall’s Pizza Kitchen, dinner at The Collective, or take a scenic drive to The Chicken Shack in Arcadia for live music and classic Oklahoma eats.
8. Take a Class Together
Before baby arrives, do something fun that’s just for you and your partner. Try a cooking class, pottery night, or even a birth or newborn care class. Take a tour of New Mom School to prep for after baby comes. Blue Sage Studios or Sur La Table both offer creative options, and it’s such a sweet way to spend intentional time together before life changes.
9. Schedule Your Maternity and Newborn Photos
The weeks before baby arrives can fly by. If you haven’t booked your maternity or newborn session yet, now’s the time! Having these moments documented means you’ll always have a reminder of what this season felt like as you anticipate and welcome your new little one. And I would be delighted to have a part in doing it for you. So reach out and let’s get them on them on the schedule.
