LAs an OKC family photographer, Will Rogers Gardens is one of the most consistent and versatile locations I recommend in Oklahoma City. It works well for families, maternity sessions, and senior photos, and it offers enough variety that sessions feel relaxed and natural without needing to travel all over the city.
Sharing just few reasons this spot continues to be a favorite for so many of my clients for their photo session.
Easy Parking Makes For Smoother Sessions
Parking is close and easy to navigate, which is a big win for families with young kids or anyone arriving with a stroller. Not having to start the session with a long walk helps everyone settle in more quickly and keeps the experience feeling calm from the start. I always want to do everything I can to make a session start smoothly for families.
Accessible for Strollers and Wheelchairs
Will Rogers Botanical Gardens is a great option for accessibility. The main paths are smooth and wide, making it easy to move through the space with strollers or wheelchairs. This is especially helpful for family sessions, maternity photos, and seniors who may need a more comfortable walking surface.
Gorgeous Natural Setting
The gardens offer a nice mix of greenery, stone paths, and architectural details that add interest without distracting from the people in the photos. Between open areas, shaded spots, and the greenhouse, we have options that work across seasons and lighting conditions. This flexibility is one reason it works so well for family photos, maternity sessions, and senior portraits throughout the year. Also having so much space means even when there are alot of people there taking photos we can find a spot for you.
A Timing Tip
Do be aware of closing times when you visit the park in the evenings. They will close the gates and give no warning. From October 1 through May 31st they close at 5. From April 1 to September 30 they lose at 8.
