Lake Hefner located on the northwest side of OKC, is a favorite spot for family adventures, running, hiking and of course photo sessions. With a wide variety of beauty, this location offers options from tall grassy fields, a small lakeside beaches and tall tree forest like areas. I love doing family and maternity photos at Lake Hefner throughout all the seasons of the year.

I love that Lake Hefner offers a variety of choices for your photo session. I offer both short sessions and full maternity photo sessions there and they both can give lots of options. The tall grassy fields give a classic Oklahoma look, whereas the beach can offer fun different photos. The white gravel area with trees is also a great area for taking pictures.
Things to Consider When Choosing Lake Hefner For Photos
It is a very popular photo spot so depending on the time of your session and the time there can be a lot of other people around. Despite the lake being quite large the best spot for photos often gets lots of people there!
Also because you are dealing with lots of tall grass you need to be aware of insects like ticks and mosquitoes. So always wear bug spray!
What to expect during maternity photos at Lake Hefner?
If you have chosen to do a short session with me your maternity photo session will take place in one general area. But don’t fear we can still get a good variety within that area. If you do an add on maternity session to a newborn photo session or a full maternity session then we can explore a few different areas of the lake. This place can be a great option all year round.
