A Summer Bucketlist for Toddlers in OKC

Do you have a toddler in your household this summer? Raises hand…I do! And after 3 summers in OKC with toddlers I thought it would be fun to put together a list of some of our favorite fun activities for toddlers in OKC.

As a mom I’m always on the lookout for new things to do and as an OKC family photographer I also love providing resources for families and my clients.

The Oklahoma City area offers so many amazing opportunities and I love hearing about new things to do. If I am missing something on this list please drop it in the comments below!

Fun Summer Activities For Toddlers In OKC

Outdoor Activities

The metro area boasts so many awesome parks and places to adventure. From parks to splash pads (check out our 5 favorite splash pads in OKC) to lots of spots to enjoy nature. Hafer Park has a great toddler focused playground. Gallop over to Mustang for another awesome park and splash pad fun.

Myriad Gardens – 301 W. Reno – Oklahoma City, OK 73102

They have an excellent shaded play garden as well their awesome Splash Fountain. Year round they hold a storytime on Wednesday mornings inside the lobby. From June through early August they hold summer walk ups in the garden with a different activity for each day. Check those out here.

Oklahoma City Zoo

The zoo is definitely a favorite at our house! They do have a few playgrounds and water areas to help break up your visits to the animals. Bring your own stroller or wagon and all the snacks for a fun filled day.

Indoor Summer Toddler Activities

MonAmi Play Studio

2132 W Britton Rd, The Village, OK

Montessori play studio in Nichol Hills focused for littles ages 0-5. They offer a variety of different opportunities from music classes with your littles, to a Mother’s Day Out drop off option to party play.

Metro Gymnastics Open Play

7420 Broadway Ext – Oklahoma City, OK 73116

On Thursdays and Fridays 9:30-11:30 Metro holds a toddler open play session for any kid 4 and under. Get those wiggles out and let them do sensory and skill building play!

Science Museum Toddler Area

The Science Museum OK is always a great place to go hang out when it’s hot, cold or anyday! The toddler area has water and imagnery play. Upstairs there are places to run and play with larger than life legos and and other fun things.

Story Time at the Library

The Metro area has so many amazing libraries with play areas perfect for little toddlers. Visit the different ones around the metro area for your littles to be delighted. Each library has it’s own play area and storytime.

Toddler Space at Kids Galaxy – Edmond, OK

Their toddler’s zone features Giant Building Blocks and a mini version of their Big Kid indoor playground – with slides, ball pit, and more!

Mommy and Me Classes

From music to dance, to swim, to Spanish, there are so many different mommy and me class activities for toddlers in OKC. Quite a few fun things to fill your days!

  • Story Time at Sweet Friends Bakery hosted by yours truly on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 10:30

  1. This is a great resource for parents of toddlers in Oklahoma City! I especially liked the inclusion of mommy and me classes, as these can be a wonderful way for littles to socialize and learn through play.

    Have you found that your toddlers have gravitated more towards indoor or outdoor activities during the summer months? My own little one loves playing outside, but the summer heat can definitely make it challenging at times.
