11 awesome kid friendly Christmas activities in OKC

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…” as that Christmas classic song flows through the speakers, I think we each feel our hearts expand a bit more. Memories, fun things to do, a lot of work – yes it’s the Christmas season!

If you spend much time with me you quickly find out that Christmas is my absolute favorite season of the year. I love making memories, keeping traditions and finding new ways to celebrate the season as we celebrate Jesus’ birth. We have moved a lot and when we get to a new town I always look for the local seasonal activities to see what we can start doing.

This is a big reason for why I wanted to put this list together of 11 awesome kid friendly Christmas activities in OKC.

Tree Lighting Ceremonies in OKC

  • Bricktown Tree Lighting Ceremony – November 12 – The main feature for the season is the Tree Lighting Ceremony in downtown OKC at Bricktown – From their site – “The festival, which is free and open to everyone, will include family-friendly activities such as photos with Santa Claus, face painting, caricatures, a Magic Elf, and more. Bring your kiddos to the Letters to Santa station sponsored by OG&E where they can write and place their letters to Santa in our North Pole mailbox, as well as decorate downtown-themed holiday postcards to take home or mail. The main attraction of the evening will be a showcase of diverse holiday performances leading up to and following the countdown to the lighting of the Christmas tree by Mayor David Holt.” Find all the details here.
